Solar Panel (PV) Rebate

receive a rebate of up to $1,400 or 50% of the purchase cost.
The Solar Panel (PV) rebate in Victoria offers financial assistance to households for installing solar panel systems. Eligible Victorians can receive a rebate of up to $1,400 or 50% of the purchase cost, whichever is lower. Additionally, there is an option to apply for an interest-free loan equivalent to the rebate amount. This rebate is available to homeowners, rental property owners, and those with homes under construction, although the latter are not eligible for other Solar Homes Program rebates until construction is complete. To apply, households must provide proof of income, property ownership, and two forms of identification. The rebate amount is deducted directly from the invoice issued by an authorised solar retailer once the installation is completed.

Solar Battery Loans

Interest-free loans of up to $8,800
Victoria offers interest-free loans of up to $8,800 to help households reduce the upfront costs of installing a solar battery system. This program replaces the previous Solar Battery Rebate Program. The loan aims to make energy storage more accessible and affordable, allowing homeowners to store excess solar energy and use it when needed, thus reducing reliance on the grid. To be eligible, homeowners must have a combined household taxable income of less than $180,000, and their home must be valued at less than $3 million. The process involves an initial eligibility check, submission of financial documents, and a credit check.

Hot Water Rebates

Rebate offers up to $1,000 for the installation.
The Hot Water Rebate offers up to $1,000 for the installation of eligible heat pump or solar hot water systems. This rebate aims to help households reduce their energy bills by replacing old gas or electric water heating systems with more efficient, renewable options. To apply, homeowners need to meet similar eligibility criteria as other Solar Homes Program rebates, including proof of income, property ownership, and identification. This rebate is designed to complement other solar incentives, allowing homeowners to maximise their energy savings.
